ABOUT ABOUT

Join us on September 21st for a special photo and video excursion at the Wiscasset, Waterville and Farmington Railway in Alna, Maine. This adventure will take you back in time to an era where steam whistles and the beat of a locomotive's exhaust echoed through the Maine countryside as narrow gauge railways hauled passengers and freight through thick forests and rocky terrain to Maine's inland communities.

Our mixed train will be led by Steam Locomotive #9, which has served on three of Maine's five historic narrow-gauge railroads. This 0-4-4T "Forney" was originally built in 1891 by the Portland Company as Sandy River & Rangeley Lakes #6. It later operated on the Kennebec Central, and finally, the the original Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington Railroad as #9. This is the oldest survivor of the original Maine two-foot gauge engines.

Photo runbys will be operated for optimal lighting, with period actors, automobiles, and props to enhance the scenes. Both photographers and videographers will be accommodated at this event. A night session with constant lighting will be offered.

Schedule:

Day Session: 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Night Session: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
